Latinx consumers currently yield $1.5 trillion in annual buying power according to Nielsen. Latina small businesses are one of the fastest growing segments in the US, contributing more than $700 billion in sales to the economy annually according to a report form Standford. One in four newly opened small businesses is Latino owned. According to Jerry Porras, co-founder of the Latino Business Action Network, a nonprofit out of Stanford University focused on empowering Latino business owners, if Latino-owned employer firms were given the same chances they would generate an additional $4 billion in revenue and 1 million jobs. 

According to the Stanford report most Latino owned businesses are either self funded or funded from seed money from family and friends due to the high interest & limited loans  offered by traditional banks.  Even with the challenges that Latinax owned businesses face with receiving fair access to capital, their businesses continue to thrive at an impressive rate of 14% outpacing the US economy.
